HPAC organizes neighborhood programming to provide community engagement and to fundraise in order to advance initiatives at the park.
These events are separate from the Park District events, which you can learn more about here.

2024 Horner Park Brew Fest
The Brew Fest is an annual fundraiser to support the sustainability initiatives of the Horner Park Advisory Council - basically keeping things lean and green on the North Side. Last year's goal was to raise sufficient funds to treat and preserve 79 critically endangered ash trees. Horner Park is the only remaining city park with a grove of healthy ash trees. Over 25,000 ash have been cut down and removed from the rest of the park system because of the Emerald Ash Borer infestation. Because of the generosity of our sponsors and patrons, sufficient funds were raised in 2022 to treat and protect these trees for the next few years.
Our 2024 Sustainability Goal is to establish Horner Park as an internationally accredited mini-arboretum with an on-line catalog and map of the 1000+ trees and shrubs that reside there. Horner is the home of over 100 distinct species of which many are critically endangered. More details to follow.
So join us for four hours of cold craft beer and cider from over thirty of Chicago's best local breweries on a warm summer night under the trees in beautiful Horner Park. But wait there's more... Local food trucks will line the park, plus live music from one of Chicago's great cover bands.
Tickets are $50 per person, which includes: Admission to the event, a tasting glass and samples from every attending brewery. That's over 60 varieties of beer from which to choose. Participants must be at least 21 years old. We also offer a reduced rate of $10 for non-drinking, designated drivers.

Concert: Pravda Records Night—Steve Dawson and The Handcuffs
The Horner Park show on July 26 is Pravda Records Night, showcasing two artists on the roster for the local label that was just named best in Chicago in the 2023 Reader poll – Steve Dawson and The Handcuffs.

The Horner Park Jazz Band will perform Sunday Jazz in Manor Park immediately following the Ravenswood Manor Garden Walk.

Manor Bash Showcase: LBP School of Dance, The New Cats, and The Red Roses
On Aug. 24 (that’s a Saturday!), we’re bringing the music to Manor Bash, sponsored by the Ravenswood Manor Improvement Association. It’s a full afternoon of music and performances, starting with LBP School of Dance taking the stage with their annual recital, followed by the foot-stomping bluegrass music of The New Cats, with The Red Roses delivering a knockout punch of hits from the ’90s to today.

3rd Annual 312 RiverRun 5K
Run, walk or stroll through Clark, California and Horner Parks along the scenic 312 RiverRun trail. This gem of a 5K course is mostly flat with just one gentle incline - and you will never have to cross any streets! Open to serious runners and casual participants, this race is the perfect way to spend a summer day in our community with friends and family.

Our season kicks off on June 14, when Chicago’s premier Mexi-Americana Roots band Los Gallos sets the stage for an incredible summer of music. This is one band that transcends borders – and even genres!

CANCELLED: Community Meeting: Lights at the Horner Park Basketball Court
The Horner Park Advisory Council will be hosting a community meeting in conjunction with the Chicago Park District and 33rd Ward Alderman Rossana Rodriguez to discuss the participatory community funding of lights to be installed at the Horner Park Basketball Courts. This is an opportunity for the community to provide feedback on the details of the implementation, all are welcome to join.

Dog Egg Hunt
$20–$40 | Come join us for a pawsome fundraising event at Horner Park! Bring your furry friend along for a tail-wagging good time searching for eggs filled with treats, plus other fun activities. We'll be meeting just east of the fields house, near where the Farmer's Market is held.
