Horner Park Events
HPAC organizes neighborhood programming to provide community engagement and to fundraise in order to advance initiatives at the park.
These events are separate from the Park District events, which you can learn more about here.

2025 Dog Egg Hunt
$20–$30 | Come join us for a pawsome fundraising event at Horner Park! Bring your furry friend along for a tail-wagging good time searching for eggs filled with treats, plus other fun activities. We'll be meeting just east of the fields house, near where the Farmer's Market is held.

2025 Horner Park Brew Fest
The Brew Fest is an annual fundraiser to support the sustainability initiatives of the Horner Park Advisory Council - basically keeping things lean and green on the North Side. Last year's goal was to raise sufficient funds to treat and preserve 79 critically endangered ash trees. Horner Park is the only remaining city park with a grove of healthy ash trees. Over 25,000 ash have been cut down and removed from the rest of the park system because of the Emerald Ash Borer infestation. Because of the generosity of our sponsors and patrons, sufficient funds were raised in 2022 to treat and protect these trees for the next few years.

Our season comes to a close with the Sept. 6 performance of Cielito Lindo as they perform mariachi favorites at our Jacob Park show, sponsored by the Old Town School of Folk Music.
Community Meeting: Lights at the Horner Park Basketball Court
The Horner Park Advisory Council will be hosting a community meeting in conjunction with the Chicago Park District and 33rd Ward Alderman Rossana Rodriguez to discuss the participatory community funding of lights to be installed at the Horner Park Basketball Courts. This is an opportunity for the community to provide feedback on the details of the implementation, all are welcome to join.

Manor Bash Showcase: LBP School of Dance, The New Cats, and The Red Roses
On Aug. 24 (that’s a Saturday!), we’re bringing the music to Manor Bash, sponsored by the Ravenswood Manor Improvement Association. It’s a full afternoon of music and performances, starting with LBP School of Dance taking the stage with their annual recital, followed by the foot-stomping bluegrass music of The New Cats, with The Red Roses delivering a knockout punch of hits from the ’90s to today.

The Horner Park show on July 26 is Pravda Records Night, showcasing two artists on the roster for the local label that was just named best in Chicago in the 2023 Reader poll – Steve Dawson and The Handcuffs.
