And now for something completely classical: Don’t miss the strings of the Spektral Quartet, coming to Ravenswood Manor Park on Friday, July 8 at 7 PM for a two hour set of some familiar, and some not-so-familiar-tunes-that-you-should-know.
Since its inception, the Spektral Quartet has sought out the discourse between the great works of the traditional canon and those written this decade, this year, or this week. Creating connections across centuries, the group further invites its listeners in with charismatic deliveries, interactive concert formats, an up-close atmosphere, and bold, inquisitive programming. The Spektral Quartet proudly serves as ensemble-in-residence at the University of Chicago’s Department of Music. Spektral Quartet is: Austin Wulliman, violin, Clara Lyon, violin, Doyle Armbrust, viola, and Russell Rolen, cello.
This show is presented by the Horner Park Advisory Council in partnership with the Chicago Park District. It is sponsored State Senate President John Cullerton.
