We would like to thank all those who came out on a rainy Saturday morning recently to help steward our parks for River Day.
We had volunteers at Horner, Sunken Gardens and Jacob Parks on May 12. Activities included litter pick up and buckthorn removal at Horner. Between the three sites there were nearly 50 volunteers helping out!
Special thanks to Site Captains John O’Connell and Theresa Hicks (Horner), Ben Ranney (Jacob), and Luke Ross (Sunken Gardens) for their help that morning. Special thanks also to Friends of the Chicago River for organizing this multi-county effort, and supplying T-shirts and gloves.
