Meeting Minutes
President Peter Schlossman called the meeting to order at 7:02 PM, the meeting was held in the second floor meeting room of the Horner Park field house. A quorum was determined to be present.
Approval of Minutes
The minutes of the 4/4/11 meeting were approved unanimously without change
Report of the Treasurer

All accounts are consistent with Quickbooks records and bank statements. Report of the treasurer was approved.
Ceriale Memorial Project
Discussion of event scheduled for May 14 at 10:15 a.m. Invitations and event promotion in process, success expected. Work performed by CPD staff, with more work planned. Restore Masonry very cooperative. Role of Reid Cleveland and Peter Schlossman discussed.
Riverbank Study
According to U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, restoration project will have no impact on ball fields, some possible impact on hill. No security issues expected. Work to be performed with recognition of under bridge connector project. CPD leadership concerned about negative public perception, public meeting may be scheduled in June. HPAC will continue to keep public officials aware of under bridge connector project.
Concert Committee
Progress continues, significant sponsorships expected. Sound system in need of repair, Larry Brown will address. Currently about $5,000 collected with the need for another $3,000.
Earth Day
Positive report on Horner Park activities; scouts and baseball association made volunteer contribution of services.
Dog Friendly Area
Thirty five signatures gathered at Doggie Egg Day, with a total of 50 survey results. Most responses positive for a plan to create a dog friendly area. Results to be posted on HPAC website. Kate and Andy Perkins commended for leadership on this issue.
Fund Raiser
Walk-ins expected, brochures to promote HPAC to be distributed. Raffle items requested.
River Day
Scheduled for May 14 from 9:00 am until noon, sponsorship by Friends of the River with help from scouts and other volunteers. Some planting and instructional clinics planned.
Garden Committee
Unanimous approval of up to $200 to be spent for plantings in park planters at Buffalo and Manor Parks.
Park Briefs
Horner
Cheryl Williamson will complete her many years of service to the park and the community on June 30, HPAC recognizes her for her contribution.
Field house project updated, with construction underway, lighting and plumbing projects nearing completion.
Outside bleachers to be delivered this week with installation expected soon thereafter.
Water on and fountains under repair, water main break in repair.
New inside bleachers to be delivered and installed by Labor Day.
Day camp numbers are low, maximum is 280, public aid issues a factor.
Baseball association working on landscaping, bought a field groomer for the park.
Manor Park
Tree planting discussed. A grant from Open Lands approved for 8 trees, ($2000 budget at 175 – 250 per tree). Necessary to raise another $1000 to complete the project. Fire hydrant permit pending with Fire Department for tree watering purposes.
Graffiti successfully removed.
Discussion of kiosk maintenance.
Buffalo Park
Graffiti successfully removed.
Jacob
Request for kiosk.
