Jacob Playlot
General discussion of improvements of Jacob Playlot. Challenges and opportunities recognized regarding the change of ward boundaries resulting in the inclusion of the playlot in Ward 40; expected at the latest in 2015 or at the earliest during the 2012 summer. A reconstruction of the playlot is estimated in the $400,000 range with 1/3 payments from CPS, the community the alderman. The CTA environmental assessment of the adjacent property was completed with no problems noted. It is expected that CTA will not be part of any playlot issues. There was general consensus that the community should now begin the process to define community support for an upgrade project and prepare for fundraising. Tom McManamon agreed to evaluate the availability of CPS equipment for use at Jacob. Water access was discussed and it was determined that John O’Connell may provide guidance.

Sunken Gardens
Discussion of maintenance and tree planning issues.
