Thanks to sponsors The Book Cellar and The Mozart Neighbors for a great show.
On Friday, August 23 old friend Rokko Jans played the final show of our 2013 summer concert series with help from his good friend Nick Talantis.
Talantis & Jans are a guitar, piano and vocals duo performing original songs and old favorites. You will find their musical stylings compelling and delightfully engaging. Nick Talantis and Rokko Jans have been performing together for over forty years. They are both members of the popular Traverse City, Michigan band “Fresh Fossils” as well as the nationally known folk rock band “Ned” (of which Rolling Stone magazine said, “they get in a groove and stay there!”). Nick (guitar/vocals) is the chief producer & engineer at My Dog Garage Studios in Traverse City with many top albums to his credit, and a sought-after guitarist and singer in the Grand Traverse area. Rokko (piano/vocals) is an award-winning composer whose music has appeared on Broadway, in films, and in venues around the world.
A Ravenswood Manor resident for nearly three decades and a Concert Series regular, you may know Rokko through his many performances in Chicago or the thirty scores he has written for the Tony Award-winning Chicago Shakespeare Theater.
