On behalf of the Horner Park Advisory Council I want to thank you for your leadership and assistance in the sale of the CTA property immediately south of Jacob Playlot to the Chicago Park District.
As you know Horner Park Advisory Council advocated for several years for CTA to transfer this parcel of land to the Chicago Park District. Recently we received news that the deal between CPD and CTA was officially approved at CPD’s last board meeting held September 11.
As stewards of Jacob Playlot we are so grateful that the expansion of this park can now be realized. The newly acquired property will be a wonderful addition to the community. The residents of the Greater Rockwell area will be rewarded for years to come with the enjoyment that this additional land will bring.
We couldn’t be more pleased with the resolution that was reached between all the public agencies and elected officials involved. We are confident that the right decision was made and we are sincerely grateful for your help in improving this park and the entire community.
