The Horner Park Advisory Council is turning 25 years old this year, and to celebrate, we have joined with the Ravenswood Manor Improvement Association and their 100th Anniversary to bring the Centennial Weekend, June 27 – June 29.

The weekend starts out with our traditional Friday night concert, with a performance on June 27 at 7 PM by the Hokulea Academy of Polynesian Arts, a clinic on all things hula and ukulele.  Come for the grass skirts, stay for the Tahitian Fire Dance!  This fun evening is sponsored by Golden Crust Pizza and Mozart Neighbors.

Then join us as we celebrate the Centennial of Ravenswood Manor as Horner Park Advisory Council and the Ravenswood Manor Improvement Association bring you the return of the ManorBash!  This is an all-day Centennial Bash on Saturday, June 28, starting at 12 PM at Buffalo Park with a kids’ bike parade, and winds up at Ravenswood Manor Park for an all-day extravaganza of music and fun for the whole family!

At 1:00pm, youth-oriented CircEsteem will entertain with a variety of circus acts.  The string duo Pushing Chain takes over the stage at 2 PM, followed by Reggae band Gizzae at 3:15.  Come see bluegrass by Mad Bread at 5:15, and round out your evening with the blues of Dave Specter.  Additional attractions include games like volley ball and minigolf, prizes, a bike clinic, and dog information, all free!  Volunteers are needed to help in the event.  Please contact John O’Connell at or Thomas Applegate at for more information and to volunteer. This day is sponsored by Alderman Deb Mell and the 33rd Ward.

And on Sunday, June 29, come see Theatre Hikes as they present their version of Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland at 1 PM.

It promises to be a weekend to remember in the Manor.  Don’t miss it!
