Horner Park Advisory Council
Meeting Minutes
President Peter Schlossman called the meeting to order at 7:10 PM, the meeting was held in a second floor meeting room of the Horner Park field house. A quorum was determined to be present.
Approval of Minutes
The minutes of the 1/10/11 meeting were unanimously approved, subject to comments and changes. There was general discussion of the scope and purpose of the minutes. Decision to prepare minutes that inform the public and provide of record of HPAC activities.
Report of the Treasurer
Total funds = Chase checking $5,351.60, savings $5,124.85, Paypal $3,826.90. MB checking 1000.00. All accounts are consistent with Quickbooks records and bank statements. Report of the treasurer was unanimously approved. Christy Weber paid, minor work remains.
Ceriale Memorial Project
Work secured through winter. Tentative date for dedication discussed. National Fallen Officers Day is May 15. National Police Week is May 15-21. Check with Kim Shepard for input.
Riverbank Study
Letter drafted to Roach addressing concerns that the ACE activities will be undertaken in a manner that will not interfere with existing plans for park usage. A “does not preclude” letter will be placed on Google docs.
Insurance Issues
West Bend data submitted. Approval of insurance purchase will be on the agenda for next meeting.
Bylaws
Discussion of bylaws with draft posted and discussed, and possibly voted upon, at next meeting.
Concert Committee
Flyer distribution the second week of March, with possible cooperation from Baseball Association members. More volunteers needed. Free movie will be obtained for July 8 or July 22.
Garden Committee
Green corps application to be submitted. Seed grant to be pursued by HPAC for Sunken Garden tree planting. FOPs seed grant. Workshop in planning.
Park Briefs
Horner
Earth Day on April 16, also date of Doggie Egg Day.
Recent field house power problems and resolution were explained and discussed.
Field house renovation continues with completion expected in April, 2011.
Recycle dumpster to be removed within 6 weeks.
Valentine Dance February 11.
Spring registration week of February 13.
Fence at Deep Tunnel outfall to be repaired.
Reid Cleveland to be interviewed on February 8 for Junior Citizen Award. Unanimous recognition of Reid’s outstanding contributions.
Ravenswood Manor Park
Tree at southwest corner removed; recommendation to plant a replacement tree.
Buffalo Park
Graffiti removal request will be acted upon.
No additional update or report on Jacobs play lot or Sunken Gardens.
The meeting adjourned at 9:00 PM.
