Horner Park Farmers Market – Covid-19 Protocols as of May 14, 2021

Market Community – we are so very excited to see you! We have been working with the City on our Covid-19 Protocols for this season. Below, please find our current guidelines. Note – we expect these to change/evolve throughout the season and will keep you current on any updates.
Horner Park Farmers Market – Covid-19 Protocols as of May 14, 2021
Market Vendors and Staff
  • All vendors must comply with current State of Illinois, Cook County, and City of Chicago Covid-19 protocols for markets. As of today, those are:
  • All vendors and staff will be required to self-screen prior to each market.
  • All vendors and staff are required to wear a mask at all times during the market day.
  • Booths will be spaced a minimum of 6’ apart.
  • All vendors must provide updated contact information when/if that information has changed from the time the application was submitted.
  • All vendors must comply with Market staff as directed.
  • Hand sanitizer will be available at 2 designated stations for the duration of each market day.
 Market Attendees
  • All visitors to the Horner Park Farmers Market must comply with current State of Illinois, Cook County, and City of Chicago Covid-19 protocols for markets. As of today, those are:
  • All visitors to the Horner Park Farmers Market must wear a mask at all times.
  • Visitors must self-screen prior to entering the market and will not be permitted to enter the market if exhibiting any Covid-19 symptoms (see Chicago Farmers Markets 2021 Social Distancing Protocols (PDF)).
  • Visitors will be permitted to enter the market only when capacity has not been reached.
    • Visitors will queue 6’ apart to await entry to the market.
  • Visitors will queue 6’ apart when waiting to purchase items from any market vendor.
  • Visitors will maintain 6’ distance between themselves and our market vendors when purchasing items.
    • Visitors will not handle market items, but rather communicate and/or point to make their selections from a vendor.
  • All visitors must comply with Market staff as directed.
  • Market visitors must leave the market area to eat or drink. No picnicking will be permitted within the market area.
  • Hand sanitizer will be available at 2 designated stations for the duration of each market day.
As you are well aware, things change frequently in response to Covid-19. This is the information we have as of today, Friday, May 14, 2021. As you are likely aware, the CDC made some mask mandate changes this week; these may change what we need to do. Thus, we will keep watch on the protocols and keep you updated. For now, the above is what we expect.
