The Horner Park Advisory Council is a volunteer-driven organization dedicated to the enrichment of our community’s parks.

Featuring over a half-mile of trails along the Chicago River, The Horner Park Natural Area is 13 acres of restored prairie land and oak savanna that provides a calming oasis in the center of a bustling city with an abundance of native wildlife, butterflies, and migrating birds.

The annual Horner Park Brew Fest invites neighbors to enjoy craft beer and cider from over thirty of Chicago's best local breweries to fundraise for Horner Park’s sustainability initiatives, including the treatment and preservation of the 79 critically endangered ash trees.

A playspace for dogs and humans alike, our off-leash Dog Friendly Area (DFA) features 25,000 square feet of fun, boasting a water play area, a small dog area, a drinking fountain, natural landscapes and benches.

A neighborhood tradition since 1985, the John O’Connell Summer Concert Series brings performers near and far to Horner and its satellite parks.

From June to October, the Horner Park Farmers Market hosts an open-air food market and weekly community gathering where neighbors are invited to be fed and entertained while growing their participation in our community.

The Nature Play Space combines native plantings, natural materials and some whimsical robots welcoming children to explore, build, learn and play.
