Newly Installed Outdoor Exercise Equipment and Benches

New benches and outdoor exercise equipment have recently been installed in Horner Park. The 33rd Ward generously contributed $75,000 from the 2023 participatory budget to help fund for this project, which was enough to purchase and install a pair of benches at the south side of the basketball courts, another two benches south of the tennis courts and a set of exercise equipment pieces including an incline table, pull up bars, parallel bars and several log hoppers.

The benches are located so that park patrons can watch players on the courts, and the exercise equipment is located in an active area of the park southeast of the sled hill shaded by a grove of trees. Since the early onset of spring weather, it is clear to see that the new amenities are well located and will be used often.

This project was conceived by community members and with your help and financial support it has come to realization. We thank the 33rd Ward for their support, and we thank the Chicago Park District for their effort to complete the project.

We encourage you to explore the outdoor exercise equipment, which includes instructional panels that demonstrate the intended use.
